We have a beautiful 2 story four bedroom home with hardwood floors and high ceilings a half block from Lake Washington in South Seattle. (98118)

We would love to find one (or two) new housemate(s) to complement our home. We are two females, early thirties and both practice energetic healing with a quantum physics twist. (We also work inphotography, art, and gemstones) Both are very much into a positive outlook and are seeking someone to move in preferable January 1st. (earlier would be okay too) We are open to either male or female (or perhaps a couple) and pets are negotiable.

The house is rather large and beautiful. You would have your own bedroom on the first floor that could be either furnished or not. We have two full baths and two living rooms as well as an office you would have access to. A fully fenced back yard and room to plant things in the spring. Your room gets great light, so much so that I use it now to do photoshoots in. But it is also quiet and private (the view out your window is trees and ivy).

Rent is $550 each plus 1/3 of the utilities. If four people rent drops to $420 with 1/4 or utilities) Our landlords are super cool and very prompt in responding to any needs we may have as tenants.

If you would like more information please contact Mina by replying to this message.

Thanks so much! (photo is of the available room) more photos upon response.

<div>
Well, sometimes there is no choice. You have been relocated or someone put an offer on your home and you just have to move even if Christmas time is near. The good news is that regardless of the craziness this season brings, it is possible to move in an organized way and still have time to enjoy your favorite time of year.

Probably, the hardest thing about moving close to Christmas time is that you will have to leave your friends and family behind. This is something you have to accept and do not let it take control of you and your sanity. The truth is that you are not really losing anyone, just moving a little farther away. In order to help you feel more at home, put up your Christmas tree as soon as you move in, it will give you a homey feeling since it is something you brought from your previous place. Also, as soon as you’re settled, or even some weeks before, if possible, try to get to know some neighbors, volunteer at events happening around the holidays or go and knock on some doors to introduce yourself and your family.

So, you are the Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner host every year? It would be good if you could ask someone else to do it this year so that you can pack and enjoy the activity at the same time without the added stress. This could be a great time to say goodbye to many friends and family, and you should be fresh and happy to enjoy it fully.

Do not worry so much about Christmas shopping. The best gift you can give your loved ones is for them to see you happy and accomplished, thus, choose to spend quality time with them instead before you leave. Your time and happiness will be the most valuable gift.

One thing you must do, though, is pay attention to your kids. Every move is a traumatic experience for them and it could be even worse if it happens around Christmas. Take the time to talk to them about their worries, like: will Santa know the new address?

Do not just sit on your b… look for activities to stay entertained during the holidays at your new place and spend valuable time getting your home the way you like it. In this way, after the holidays, you can start inviting new friends to your beautiful home.

You will take a big weight off your shoulders if you hire professional help to handle your move. Make sure you contact a Seattle moving company capable of handling everything in an organized and safe manner, so that you know your valuables are taken care of in the best way possible.

In the end, it is all about putting things into perspective. There is always a way to do everything in a calm and organized way while enjoying your traditions and loved ones. And the best part is, next year you will have the opportunity to enjoy new traditions, with new and old friends, with your family, and with the feeling of accomplishment that brings moving ahead in your life.

A move is seen, by child development professionals, as one of the most unsettling happenings in a kid’s life. The manner in which a child responds to changing homes depends on several aspects, like personality, closeness to friends, and the reasons for the move. Several studies have shown that the parents are in the best place to offer the needed support to help their children be happy regardless of any move.

The approach of the parents to the move normally affects the child. If the parents are sad about it, the child’s reaction will be a negative one. On the contrary, if the parents are happy about it and talk about great expectations, the child will too. Normally, younger children are better at accepting big changes; children in their teens will have a rough time because the identity crisis that they normally experience during these years is deepened by the loss of their friends.

In order to make it easier on everyone, but especially on your children, talk openly to them about the move. Tell them what they can expect, what their new neighborhood is like and how to make new friends. If possible, take them there before moving, so that they can experience the place for themselves and feel like an important part of the decision. You can let your children choose their bedrooms and think of how they are going to decorate them, give them packing and labeling responsibilities, and let them meet the movers in Seattle, so that they feel useful.

After you move, pay attention to your children’s games and playing routines, these will help you identify their needs. If they are talking to friends, pets or dolls, they could be worried or fearful, thus, assure them that their normal activities will still be there and open the doors for communication.

Look for similarities between the old place and the new one, not only between the houses, but also between neighborhood and town. Go to the child’s new school with him or her before the first day. Go into the classroom and meet the teacher, encourage your child to play with a classmate before starting school and do not create false expectations about how cool the new school is. Let your child experience it for himself, but always show optimism and encouragement.

It is not only you who is moving this year. Thousands or even millions of people who change homes or offices every year join you, and thus, it is only logical to try to reduce waste as much as possible when moving.

It has been determined that each person produces around 1580 pounds of waste per year, most of it, some 602 pounds, are in the form of paper and paperboard, 149 pounds are plastic, 58 pounds are textiles, and 82 pounds are wood.

Even though it is believed that America is recycling almost 30% of the waste produced, the amount of waste generated is increasing every single year, and, although recycling has grown in general, there is a marked growth of the recycling of certain materials like paper, plastic soft drink bottles, aluminum cans, steel packaging and major appliances.

In order to help the growing and crucial recycling efforts, here are several ideas to help you reduce waste when moving to a new home or office:

1.	Avoid buying new boxes, and instead, save old ones. Find leftover boxes from local shops or neighbors.

2.	If you can’t find old boxes, use corrugated ones made out of recycled materials.

3.	Recycle every box after you have used it.

4.	Use your luggage and handbags to pack your clothes, linens, and bathroom items.

5.	Ask the movers in Seattle about renting reusable storage crates. These last many years and are recyclable.

6.	Wrap up fragile things in old newspapers.

7.	Select eco-friendly packing materials like cushioning peanuts made of biodegradable cornstarch and bubble wrap containing recycled plastic. Always recycle these materials after utilizing them.

8.	Make sure you dispose appropriately of non-recyclable materials like cleaners, paints, and car supplies before you move. Find the correct way to get rid of them.

9.	When possible, use recycled paint for house projects.

10.	Make a garage sale before you move to get rid of things you don’t need or want but are in good condition.

11.	Donate whatever you think can be used and appreciated by others.

After you move, find out about recycling programs in the community and join it. Also, start buying only recyclable products and items that can be repaired and used for a long time.

There is great excitement when you are going to move to a new home. Despite the crazyness of the packing and planning with the Seattle moving company, the idea of a new place or even a new life puts a smile in most faces and a shine in most hearts. And it can get even better, because it can put good money in most pockets too!

Moving time is a great time for a garage sale. It is the perfect time to get rid of what is not useful anymore, to make room for all the new that will be coming along with your new home.

If you are moving into a smaller place, a garage sale IS a necessity, as well as if you are a fan of season sales; there is only so much room between four walls. So there you go. If you want to get rid of unused clothes, old toys, unecessary furniture, and other belongings that are truly in your way, think garage sale. You can always buy new stuff with the money you make, or even better, you can save it!

Although there is endless information in books, magazines, the web, and even from experienced friends, on how to run a successful garage sale, here we show you the best tips to fill your pockets with money:

1.	Check with local authorities the restrictions for garage sales.

2.	Invest some money on advertising in local newspapers, ad bulletin boards, and shoppers guides. Post it online also.

3.	Ask other neighbors to join you, you can share costs and attract more buyers due to the amount of items on sale.

4.	Mark the way with flashy signs with arrows showing the way to your house.

5.	Define sale hours and avoid holiday weekends, no one will be home.

6.	Be prepared for customers who arrive too early.

7.	Set attractive prices and be ready to bargain.

8.	Put a price tag on every item and group items by price. You can also use colors to differentiate prices.

9.	Clean the items before the sale, to make them more desirable.

10.	Put the clothes on racks for easy viewing and check the pockets beforehand!

11.	Put similar items, or things that complement each other, together; it may get you more sales.

12.	Have plenty of change in hand.

13.	Be careful with the money; have it locked up in a box or wear a fanny pack.

14.	Offer bags for the customers who buy and paper to wrap the china.

15.	Remove all signs after the sale is over.

16.	Give to charity whatever is left; it will make you feel really good!

There is a very simple answer to that question: there is never ‘too much’ when talking about safety after a move. After the not-so-much-fun part of the move is over, and the movers in Seattle are gone, you just want to relax and enjoy your new home in the company of your family and friends, however, there is one more thing you must take care of, and it is to make sure your loved ones are completely safe in the new nest.

Keep them safe from what, you say? How about potential fires, carbon monoxide poisoning and burglars? Yes, believe it or not, these are more than common hazards that afflict thousands of moving families across America. Fire alone, kills more than 3,000 people per year in their homes, and more than 350,000 residential fires are attended by fire departments.

So, first things first:

1.	As soon as you move, put new batteries in the smoke alarm devices and ensure they are working OK. Monthly maintenance is key!

2.	Work on an evacuation plan after carefully studying the floor plan, and identify the safest areas.

3.	Install a carbon monoxide detector if there is none. It is a great risk in the presence of furnaces, ranges, and water and room heaters. Symptoms are similar to those associated with the common flu: headaches, fatigue, nausea, dizziness and difficulty breathing.

4.	Get someone to inspect the heating system for blockages, corrosion and disconnections.

5.	Install all appliances following the manufacturer’s instructions and local building codes.

6.	Make it a habit to lock all doors and windows while you are away and during the night. Many, out of the more than a million burglaries that happen each year, are avoidable, but it has been confirmed that homeowners do not know how to keep their homes safe:

-	Do not place valuables in front of windows, where they will be seen by people walking by.

-	Ensure every door and window has a lock. For doors, get deadbolt locks with a one-inch throw and reinforced strike plate.

-	Sliding doors should be secured with a metal rod in the track to prevent forced opening.

-	Always lock the attached garage.

-	Get a good outdoor lighting system.

-	Trim the shrubs near the entrance so that there is no place for burglars to hide.

-	Inquire if the neighborhood has a community watch program; if yes, join it; if not, encourage neighbors to start one.

-	Install an alarm; it has proven very useful to discourage crime and give peace of mind to homeowners.

Don't want to commit to a long lease? Not sure if you want to stay in Seattle? On a job contract? Relocating to Seattle and are trying to get a feel for the city and its neighborhoods? Just sold your house and you are needing a temporary place to live? Then please consider a four month lease at the Cascade Terrace Apartments beginning November 1st. You may renew the lease or go month to month.

Newly renovated in 2007, this particular apartment is on the 3rd level but is on a hill so you only have to walk up 7 stairs to get to the actual unit. It has a beautiful view of Lake Union, dishwasher, in-unit washer/dryer, garbage disposal, carpet, walk-up unit, fireplace, walk-in closets, open concept kitchen/living/dining area, 2 spacious bedrooms and 1 bathroom, and has a spacious balcony overlooking Lake Union. The neighbors on all sides are quiet, and the neighborhood itself is very quiet. The complex is very pet-friendly with several grassy areas for your pets. It also has a fitness center, TV room, billiards table and BBQ. On bus lines 3, 4, 5, 16, and 358. Within walking distance of the Seattle Center, Lower and Upper Queen Anne.

Application fee is $40/person and you will need to pay a $250 refundable deposit. No need for first, last or additional deposits. Utilities (w/s/g) are $36/per person; electricity, cable, internet, etc is per tenant. Covered or garage parking is available for a reasonable fee but there is plenty of free street parking nearby.

My housemates are moving north December 1st and I have a beautiful four bedroom home in Rainier beach (South Seattle) that needs and a couple lovely new peeps to move in! (2 or 3)

We're a half block from Lake Washington, about a mile south of Seward Park.
two stories, four bedrooms, two bath, laundry, parking, fenced in back yard..

I am hoping to rent out the two downstairs bedrooms and possibly keep the fourth open as an office/healing space..

Rent is just under $600 a month plus utilities.. if there are three of us here. Obviously less if there are 4. (We have had 5 people living here before and it was totally comfortable, there's tons of space to still have your privacy)

My main priorities in housemates are open mindedness and a generally positive outlook. (Bliss consciousness works) People that like to have fun and are responsible but not overly serious. I'm open to children and pets depending on the situation.

I am a photographer, artist, author, and "healing" practitioner among other things.. I'm clean but not anal.. respectful and quiet. Although it is also a fantastic house for hosting dinner parties or other get togethers.

The lease is up May 1st at which time I will likely be moving out but I'm sure that if you loved it you could potentially stay and sign a lease of your own.

Please forward or share this with anyone you think might be a good match..

Available August 1st. First/Last/Deposit required. Total move in: $1,300 but we can talk about installments... Utilities are not included, but they are split 4 ways when the house is full. For example, this month's total was around $30 each which included water, sewer, garbage, and internet.

Here's the deal: I moved into a great house on Beacon Hill and I am looking for fantastic individuals to share it with me. First of all let me tell you about the house: it's a beautiful 1903 craftsman located one block off Beacon Ave S on S Horton. Less than .5 mile to buses that go to Downtown Seattle, Georgetown, White Center, Rainier Beach, and SoDo (32, 36, 38, 39, 60), and five blocks from the Beacon Hill light rail station which will be opening July 2009. There is a Red Apple grocery store about a mile down the street, or for quick bites there are great Mexican and Filipino restaurants one block away, as well as a coffee shop &amp; mail store. It's really kind of perfect. Anyway, back to the house:

- newer kitchen with skylight -- always bright!
- dining room
- creative space
- 6 bedrooms (2 up, 2 down, 2 on main floor)
- 3 full bathrooms (one on each floor so you're only sharing with one other person)
- washer/dryer
- huge porch overlooking a beautiful flower and vegetable garden
- detached garage for storage

The finished basement/duplex has a kitchenette (sink, counter, and cupboards), a living space, a full bath, and a separate entrance if you don't want to use the indoor staircase. The entire basement unit is $850/mo. + utilities which would include separately metered water &amp; power + $10 for internet. It stays cool in the summer and I'm told it is nice and cozy in the winter.

The main floor bedroom ($500) is right off the kitchen/front room area. It's a spacious 10' x 11' room with a closet that extends under the staircase for in-room storage. The house is pretty quiet after 9:00 p.m. or so, so I think the room is perfect for 9-5'ers or early risers in general.

The other main floor bedroom is occupied by an early-20s guy. The upstairs has two bedrooms occupied by me and a super-chill late-20s gal. Me: I'm an open-minded 38 year old guy, I'm neat, I recycle/compost, and I go to Burning Man. In fact all three of us do... I'm kind of a night owl but I'm quiet at home. My hobbies include traveling (I've lived in India and France), geeking out on computers (I worked at Microsoft), and producing fundraisers for non-profits. We're all burners so far.... 2 straight, 1 gay... 2 males, 1 female.... help us yin our yang by being female, gay, or both. Or maybe just one in a previous life? :) All are welcome...

Some things about the household to ensure mutual domestic tranquility:
- Home is sacred and is treated with the utmost respect (both the house and housemates).
- This is not a party house. If you do drugs, drink by yourself, think the only good music is loud, like to have friends over at all times, etc, then this is not the house for you. It's all about respect.
- You have to be interesting and like to have fun! Funny messages on a whiteboard, spontaneous urban adventures, and summertime barbecues are examples of what should excite you about living here.
- There is not a media-centric room--all TVs are in our bedrooms.
- We have the beginnings of a common art/creative space for painting, projects, and just getting creative.
- Barbecue is available and should be used often!
- No smoking in the house.
- The garden doesn't need a lot of daily maintenance but you should be ok with watering now and then. There is plenty of space if you want to grow something. Green thumbs to the front of the line!
- All common areas should be left better than you found them. No dishes in the sink, no clothes left in the dryer for days, etc... If this seems like a no-brainer then you'll love living here.
- There is a female dog here already, and we would consider another male dog but other than that no pets. That means no crayfish, no ferrets, no guinea pigs, no cats, no chickens. A goldfish might be OK... :)

Well that's about it. If you've read this far then you might have just found your next home and I'm super excited to meet you, so email me and tell me about yourself and we can set up a time to meet. Thanks and peace!

FOR RENT: Two rooms in 2,200 square foot house just 10 mins south of downtown Seattle. We're asking $600 for each room + shared utilities. Choose one or both!

A little about the house:
It's a large farmhouse style building with about 1/4 acre in the back perfect for growing your own food (land has been organically farmed for nearly 60 years). Yard is big and is perfect for barbeques, sunbathing, etc. Some areas of the house are shared (kitchen, living room, basement, garage) but the bedrooms are located in their own semi-private "wing" on the main floor. Kitchen is newly remodeled with super efficient refrigerator and dishwasher, new 5 burner stove, and stainless steel prep table. LOADS of storage space available. High efficiency washer and dryer newly installed. Detached 400 square foot outbuilding is shared and is great for movie night, gatherings, etc. Greenhouse is ready for your gardening project. Small room available on the main floor as well- used to be a massage practitioner's space- great for crafts, projects, etc. The bedrooms have hard wood floors and feature spacious closets and new paint jobs. This house is a must-see-it-to-believe it sort of place.

A little about the Housemates:
My partner and I are moving out, and our housemates are staying. They live on the upstairs level but share the common areas. They are fun loving, community minded folks who understand the need for privacy, but enjoy the energy of a house full of great people.

Our ideal situation:
You come and look at the space, you fall in love with it, and you want to rent both rooms. We run your credit, you give us a deposit, and you move in. Alternatively, you bring a friend with you when you come look at the house, you both love the space, and you each want to rent a room. Bliss ensues.

Contact me with questions, to see more photos, or to set up a time to come and look at the house. Did I mention the mature fruit trees out back are just starting to blossom? If you move in now, you'll be eating fresh peaches, blackberries, rhubarb and apples by August... ;)

Greetings! We're looking for two roommates to share a four bedroom, 3 bathroom in Wedgwood. You pay $475 a month (not counting utilities). The first three months will cost $720 ($1,000 deposit and first month's rent of $1,900 staggered over three months + regular rent). See below for a full description of the house.

WE ARE: 2 friends in our mid-20s and work together at an acupuncture school. I am into hiking, cooking, reading, dancing and music. I don't smoke, drink socially, am friendly and sociable, but also enjoy time to myself. My friend is pretty quiet and reserved, he doesn't drink or smoke, and is big time into music and books. The cool nerd.

YOU: Don't smoke, and can enjoy a drink in moderation. We're not looking for anybody 420-friendly, or who wants to have raging parties every weekend. We're also looking for someone who is health conscious (i.e. healthy living/eating, etc) and eco-conscious (composting, saving water/energy, etc). We're okay with pets as long as you're responsible for them. We want someone that wants to help create a harmonious, positive and creative living space.

We would like to seal this deal as soon as possible, so if you're interested (or know anybody who would be), let us know immediately.

-House upstairs includes HUGE Kitchen (for entertaining), Living Room with TV (Lots of movie choices), 1 bath with a 2 man 22" jet tub, 1 bath with a HUGE Wet Sauna/Steam Room with 3 shower heads (fits like 5 people or more)
-Property has good organic soil beds for planting, cherry, fig, apply, pear, passion fruit and more
-Rent includes ALL utilities (gas, electric, water, sewer, garbage, recycling, Wi-Fi / Cat-5 High Speed Internet, compost..etc..)
-Plenty of free street parking
-Dog Park near, Play Field across the street, lots of other parks, Seward park close by, PCC very close, very close to #7,9,42,48,39 Metro buses, Lake Washington very close
-Owner of house (really, super cool lady) lives upstairs with 4 others (sort of a community house, but not, all nice people though)
-Room to rent gets the most sun out of all rooms, 9 ft x 12 ft, double glass french doors, closet, 7 ft 4 in ceilings
-In our space there is Niandra (my 2 yo Magick Cat)
-In the house upstairs there is Orion and Sarge (2 Chilled Cats and Buddy a 3 legged little dog) All pets are mostly chilled and are indoor / outdoor animals.
-No smoking or open flames on property (The house before this one burned down due to a cigarette)

Me, I am a 30 yo Massage Therapist, Dancer, Maker of Sounds among other things. I have a 6 yo son, who is with me every other weekend. I have been practicing massage, some out of the space, but that will probably change and I don't expect for you to tip toe around my work, if I was to work with you here. I live fairly simply, I play music, cook, ride my bike, dance, be with my partner (about onced a month or so she is here from Canada no longer than a week).

Honestly I cannot afford the space anymore and need help with it, so I will be disassembling my sons room (the one for rent) and he will stay with me in my room, when he is here.

My long term plans are to eventually move by the end of the year (Probably Vashon Is). But until then I have to try to maintain this space and March rent is coming, which I need help in.

This would be a good spot for someone, who may be in transition into the city or some other living situation that isn't ready for them yet, or when I leave you could just take the whole place over (for a good price) or just bring someone else in. Shawna (the owner) doesn't do leases, I have paid the deposit already on the space (so you don't have to worry about that, until I move, but we can talk more about that)

Basically you can move in now without having to come out of pocket of a lot of money. The terms are very negotiable. I just really need to get someone here to help out with rent, so I can still have a home, and Shawna is not put out either.

I would love to open this space to someone I knew, who is kid friendly, Animal Friendly, someone who may want to receive bodywork from me (for the hell of it) every so often, maybe do a sauna every now and then, who might want to share a meal, who doesn't want a TV in our space, but movies on a laptop is always good (I love media) just not TV, who loves music and maybe wants to dance / contact improv, Someone who doesn't have a lot of stuff, someone soft, well spoken, honest, clear in communication, would like to hang out, cuddle, talk, share whatever. But in the end someone who will show up and pay the rent. Which is the only reason I am opening the space up to someone else anyway.

Have a cute tiny house that is on solar, located at 2,500 ft near Volcano National Park on the Big Island (Hawaii). Will visit my former life in Seattle and am interested in a housing trade for that 3 week period. I also have a cat that needs fed daily and can offer my place if you want to come to Hawaii.

Large sunny bedroom available in cute two bedroom house in Columbia City. Hardwood floors in living room and hallway. Nice tiling in kitchen and bathroom. Laundry room with washer and dryer. Eat-in kitchen. Fully fenced yard with a garden. Separate garage that is currently only being used for storage, but it has the potential to be converted into a work space. About a fifteen minute walk to the downtown of Columbia City, and two blocks away from several major buslines and the LINK rail which will hopefully start running this summer. I have a young son who will be nearly a year old when the room is available so I am looking for a clean, responsible housemate who preferably loves kids, or is at least tolerant of them. If you are a single parent with a young child and do sleep sharing this will be a perfect arrangement for you! I have an older dog, and a senile cat but your pets are welcome also as long as they are not dog or cat agressive.

I am seeking an open minded, plant-loving, creative, eco-minded (we have a composter and recycle diligently), 420 friendly housemate. If you are a bookworm and don't really like television we will mesh wonderfully, though there is a large TV with DVD player for when you want to veg out.

Trans-friendly, hooper friendly! I am mostly a stay at home mom, 34 yo, but work a couple nights a week.

The room will be available the end of march/beginning of April. First, last and a security deposit.
