 I hate to be nostalgic...but thinking about the fact that the basement set-up George had going on under the Ponce Hotel is gone - still makes me want to cry. We had my 21st b-day party in that smelly hole. It was private. The Charlatans UK showed up and they didn't know the password. I let those frickin' mods in anyways. They treated me like a celebrity for years. I still have a hard time believing it. Best scene in town, if you can manage to keep up your end of the bargain by being one of the coolest people in Atlanta (you think it wouldn't be too hard, but just make sure you show out, don't effing slack off on this). They keep the fine line drawn. I can't personally recall any time that cops showed up or the lights turned on too early. I'm not saying it's never happened - I'm saying it never happened to *me* (the important part). I'm not saying they'll treat *you* like a celebrity. Different music every night
I haven't been to a "rave" in Atlanta in forever. I got burned out with the shady kids and shady promotors. Now I just catch experimental and electronic concerts. Your best bet club wise is going to eleven 50, whenever they have good dj's. Also MJQ has been going strong for years.
