Anytime I'm downtown and craving meat I try to stop by The Local for their great BBQ. Beers galore, great atmosphere, plenty of dart boards, but sometimes it gets so smokey I have to leave and clear my eyes. Good times! *cough* - Andy , posted 11/19/05 |

This place couldn't be better. Feels totally like a locals only place - yet anyone can go there and blend in immediately. Gets really full on Friday and Saturday nights, so arrive before 10, or stand around with your beer... whatever. - Eric , posted 11/11/05 |

If you like the eclectic Ponce De Leon Avenue atmosphere, you'll love The Local. Situated on prime real estate between the premier place for aging and dying hookers *shudders* (the Claremont Lounge) and a Catholic Church (bitter irony), the local lends itself to the college atmosphere, beer pub, like no other. I went a little nuts going there and ordered the cheese steak and chili fries - both dishes, although simple, were excellent. The chili fries were astounding and the bar is active and social.
