concentration
hey -
truth is, i don't believe in concentration - i see it as a battle where one part of the mind tries to conquer another. but i do believe that focus is an aquired ability, like learning a sort of "mind dance".
i believe the best advice is (that is - it works for me) - find something to read that fascinates you, and sit to read it in a coffeshop, bar, or something similar - where your mind can actually wonder and move back and forth between the book and the surroundings. granted, this is not the most "efficient" method - but it gives the opportunity to slowly find out what it is you need, and how you're most capable of achieving it.
I'd also recommend Awareness Through Movement in the Feldenkrais Method (see site). it consists of movement lessons (NOT exercise) that deal with exactly learning, attention, and self-development.
